Hi, guys! \o/
Im so happy that I was the last interviewed of the French website Mercenar. Mercenar has found me on Cosplay.Com and sent me a message asking for the interview. I accepted to answer some questions and here is the interview complete.
You can also read it on Mercenars website:

1. How long have you been cosplaying ? I am cosplayer since the year of 2007, in an event called Anime Family Aquecimento, here in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), with a cosplay of Orochimaru, from the anime/manga Naruto, and since then I never stopped making cosplays. It's a small time in comparison to cosplayers that are involved in this world for so long, but I fell completely comfortable and happy making cosplays as serious hobby.
2. Other hobbies or passions except cosplay ? I help my father in his mechanic workshop since I was 13 years old and because of that, cars competitions like races and exhibitions of tuning cars are my passions expect the cosplay. Also my father has a two old cars, a French Simca, from the year of 1965 and a MP Lafer, from 1979, so old cars are also another passion for me.
3. Are you showing yourself in events like E3, ECTS, Comic Con.. ? Yes. There are a lot of Conventions of anime/manga/games here in Brazil during all long the year, and I participate of all of them, sometimes competing in the cosplay competitions, sometimes as presenter of the conventions.
4. The costumes are made all by yourself ? My mother helps me so much with my costumes that I can say without her I wouldn't have the half of costumes I have. She sews the most complex costumes and I sew the less difficult ones. And all of the accessories, like swords, head pieces and etc., of my costumes are made by me alone.
5. How much time do you spend to make one ? It depends of the complexity of the costume. The most difficult one was the cosplay of Lulu, from Final Fantasy X, it took 2 months (working a little each day) to be ready, and the faster one to be ready was Mio Akiyama, from K-ON!, that took only 3 days.
6. Is it expensive to collect all the pieces to build one ? Again it depends of the complexity, but I'd say that even the easier cosplay is a lovely challenge for the person who loves to make cosplays. Sometimes a cosplay can be more expensive than U$ 1000,00 and sometimes it's not even U$ 50,00, at least between my cosplay list these are the prices I can certainly say that is spent for a good cosplay.
7. When you're cosplaying, do you ever encounter weird or disrespectful people ? Weird and disrespectful people, unfortunately, we can meet everywhere, what is not nice! And during the conventions, when I'm cosplaying, still see some people that I definitively wouldn't want to encounter again. This kind of people used to say rude things to cosplayers or gamers that attend to the conventions.
8. Are you collecting objects like anime figures or statues ? Actually I prefer to become the anime figure my self! Hahaha! This is what a cosplay addict says! But, even so, I have a small collection of figures, like my favorite one, Saber Lily, from Fate/Unlimited Codes, between others, and a small collection of plushies (cute figutes) of my favorite anime characters. By the way, my favorite plushie is Ulquiorra, from the anime Bleach.
9. Do you like mangas paperbooks & animes ? Of course I do. I know this is a pejorative word in Japanese, but in English it's not: I am an Otaku! And a proud one. I like to collect anime DVD, mangas tankohon, anime figures and plushies (like I said before) and other Otaku things. Actually most part of my cosplays are from anime/manga.
10. Any cosplay project coming ? Yes. I'm making three cosplays at the same time. It has been crazy days to prepare everything. This season of conventions in the end of the year requires a lot from the cosplayers! The prizes are big, like cars, so the cosplayers must be well prepared with good costumes. The ones I'm working are: Morrigan Aenslad, from the game Darkstalkers, an art book version of Yuuko, from the anime xxxHolic, and Edea, from the game Final Fantasy 8.
11. Do you play videogames ? If yes, what type of games ? I all of my 23 years of life had just four platform game: a Megadrive, a Super Nintendo, a Sega Saturn and a Play Station 2. I can say that almost all of the famous games from these platforms I have played. But my favorite ones are games like Sonic, Mario, Castlevania (I have a special love for the Symphony of the Night), Final Fantasy 6, 7, 8 and 10, and Ninja Gaiden (as Ryu Hayabusa is my favorite character ever!).
12. Any word for people who thinks that cosplay is ridiculous or laughable ? Call the art of cosplaying as ridiculous and laughable is an attitude from people that have no respect with the hobby of others. In my non-cosplay life I am a Portuguese/English teacher, and as a teacher I just can't accept people that have a closed mind for new things. If there is someone that doesn't like cosplay reading this interview, please: open up your mind and see that cosplay is a serious business, but with a lot of fun.
13. Thanks for answering the questions, any word for people who gonna read the interview ? It was a great pleasure and I am very happy to respond each question here! I ask for the readers that, if you have a time, please check out my cosplay gallery at
